What is tenkara? Tenkara is a traditional Japanese style of fly fishing that uses a telescopic rod, line, and a fly to catch fish ideally in rivers and mountain streams.
Our founder, Bill Holleran was an early adapter of the tenkara method. When he couldn't find any information on tenkara locally he decided to make it his mission to spread the word across New England and beyond.
Red Brook Tenkara is also home to the annual White Mountains Tenkara Camp Out. Each year enthusiasts from all over the U.S. and Canada attend this great event to camp, fish, and hike the WMNF.
