Meg Stewart is an outdoor leader and educator dedicated to creating accessible, empowering, and meaningful experiences in wilderness spaces. Growing up by the ocean, she embraced water-based activities such as surfing, sea kayaking, and paddleboarding. It wasn’t until her 20s that she first ventured into the mountains, an experience that shaped her passion for inclusion and inspired her mission to make the outdoors welcoming for everyone.
Now an experienced hiker, Meg has completed multiple rounds of New Hampshire’s 48 peaks and New England’s 67, while steadily pursuing other regional and national hiking goals. She views the outdoors as more than recreation—it’s a space for reflection, resilience, and personal growth.
With a master’s degree and nearly two decades of leadership experience, Meg brings credibility and purpose to her work. She actively guides individuals in Leave No Trace principles, teaching sustainable practices that preserve nature’s beauty. As a Wilderness First Aid Instructor, Wilderness Responder, CPR Instructor, and certified yoga teacher, she emphasizes safety, mindfulness, and preparedness in outdoor education. Her volunteer work with Search and Rescue and her efforts to help hikers develop practical backcountry skills reflect her commitment to fostering both confidence and community in the outdoors.
As a speaker, Meg explores the intersections of survival skills, the psychology of adventure, and the healing power of nature. She advocates for mental health and shares how hiking has served as a walking meditation, offering clarity and healing during life’s challenges. By teaching skills like navigation and risk reduction, Meg empowers others to embrace outdoor exploration with confidence and care.
Beyond her work on the trails, Meg practices Nordic hot and cold immersion, grounding exercises, and mindfulness. She cherishes time with her three children and her goldendoodle, Pemi, who often joins her on adventures. As the owner of The Wander Inn, NH, Meg delights in helping guests create lifelong memories, whether through hidden gem hikes or moments of peace in the wilderness.
Meg’s approach to the outdoors is rooted in kindness, curiosity, and a belief in the transformative power of nature. She is driven to help others connect with the wild in ways that are safe, inspiring, and restorative.
