world-renowned alpinist Conrad Anker to headline 2025 expo

The Boston Outdoor Expo has announced Conrad Anker will join the line-up of speakers the second edition of the outdoors adventure expo in March 2025. Anker will headline the Inspiration Stage, delivering a fireside chat during the weekend event for outdoor enthusiasts. The first Boston Outdoor Expo debuted in Massachusetts, April 2024, wowing over 10,000 of the outdoors community.

Anker, world-renowned expeditioner, former rock-climbing team leader for The North Face, and author has signed up to share his adventures at the next biggest outdoor expo in Boston. He will join an impressive line-up of hikers, adventurers, trail runners, climbers and survivalists set to take the stages throughout the weekend.  The Inspiration Stage will host bushcraft adventure leader and expert Tim Swanson, founder of The Between Worlds Project, alpinist, big wave surfer, and free diver Andrew Alexander King and recent cast member of Naked & Afraid, Sara Kunz with more being frequently added to the full speaker list.

No stranger to Mount Everest, the Alaskan mountains, and many other ranges in Antarctica and Pakistan, Anker is known as one of the most prolific mountaineers and alpinists alive today.  Over decades in the mountains, he has explored the Himalayas and Montana equally and has been inspired by other ecosystems and cultures, not to mention the physical and communal landscape of his hometown of Bozeman. Phenomenal expeditions have seen Anker face extreme conditions and challenging weather, surviving massive avalanches on his way. He has climbed Mount Everest three times, most famously in 1999, when he discovered the remains of George Mallory, a British climber who died attempting Everest in 1924, helping to shed more light on one of mountaineering’s most famous mysteries. His career has led him to pioneer difficult new routes in the most remote destinations on earth and is hailed a legend among the climbing community.

Anker will share inspirational tales from his career at next year’s event in Boston, set to amaze visitors. In his words, Anker suggests there is no living without climbing and when asked about joining the show line up, Anker commented: ‘The mountains are where I feel most alive so I enjoy inspiring the community to plan an adventure and try out new hikes or places on their doorstep! I look forward to answering questions about my journey and sharing some stories with the community in Boston too.’
